Firefighter Pick Lear
Elwood firefighter Pick Lear suffered a heart attack while battling a house fire on June 24, 1955. Though he was initially hospitalized and released on July 4, he suffered a severe relapse and was readmitted until he succumbed to his injuries. Lear was 45 years old.
Research notes: Information about Firefighters Lear’s life and death are not readily available in sources that I have been able to find. If you have more information on him about his family life, military service or his career with EFD I would be happy to update this post.
